James Bond Theme Music – The Sounds Of 007

James Bond theme music has played a huge part in defining the 007 movie series. each film begins with a teaser (pre-title) sequence followed by a unique theme song written and performed especially for the movie.

Some of the well-known theme songs include Goldfinger by Shirley Bassey, Live and Let Die by Paul McCartney & Wings, and A View to a Kill by Duran Duran.

More often than not James Bond theme music is performed by popular artists. Over the years this has led to great anticipation as to who will perform the next 007 theme tune.

The theme songs are played as the background music to the title sequence which features pictures exhibiting the theme for each movie.

The following theme songs have a different name to their respective movie: Nobody does it Better by Carly Simon, All Time High by Rita Coolidge, You know My Name by Chris Cornell, and Another Way to Die by Jack White & Alicia Keys.

James Bond theme music is incredibly well-known and has been prominent in musical charts all over the world. many of the songs have stood the test of time with Thunderball, by Tom Jones, a classic example. the popular Welsh singer often still performs in live concert and is admired for singing the theme song to this great 1965 Bond film.

The only artists to perform multiple theme songs are the John Barry Orchestra and Shirley Bassey.

John Barry also composed the music for eleven James Bond movies giving the series its exclusive style.
